Escape with us to our studio, tucked inside our walled garden and just beside our flower field, for a slow, creative afternoon immersed in the colours, textures and gentle abundance of the changing season.

In this workshop, you’ll create a beautiful asymmetrical dried flower hoop wreath, inspired by the relaxed beauty of a late-summer meadow moving gently into autumn.

You’ll work with an extensive selection of dried flowers, grasses, seedheads, foliage and natural botanical elements. Nearly every beautiful botanical you’ll work with has been grown here from seed, gathered from our flower field and carefully dried here at The Flowersmith Studio.

From the flower field to the drying racks, and finally into your hands, you’ll be creating something that feels truly connected to our garden and the season.

Our workshops are deliberately small, creating a warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with plenty of time for individual guidance and hands-on tuition. I’ll guide you through the techniques and design principles behind creating an airy, balanced asymmetrical design, exploring colour, texture, scale and movement while giving you the freedom to develop a piece that feels completely your own.

We’ve allowed 2½ hours, so there’s no need to rush. Take your time choosing your flowers, experiment with colour and texture, pause for refreshments, chat, wander into the garden or simply enjoy being surrounded by flowers and creativity.

Your finished hoop wreath is designed for indoor display, bringing natural texture, gentle colour and a little piece of the garden into your home. Kept somewhere dry and protected from strong direct sunlight, it can be enjoyed for many seasons to come.

I’ll guide you through the process from selecting and your materials to creating a balanced, abundant design, sharing the techniques and principles I use when creating our own dried floral work.

There will be plenty of individual guidance throughout the workshop, allowing you to develop your own design while learning how to combine colour, texture, scale and movement to create a wreath that feels natural and beautifully considered.

Your finished wreath will be a substantial seasonal piece, designed to make a beautiful statement on your front door or inside your home. Kept somewhere dry and protected from strong direct sunlight, it can be enjoyed throughout the season and for years to come.

There will be time to pause and enjoy tea, coffee and homemade seasonal treats, and perhaps take a little stroll through the garden and flower field as we embrace the changing season.

Many of the botanical elements are grown and carefully dried in the garden at The Flowersmith Studio, giving the wreath a natural, seasonal character.
