Join me for a seasonal workshop where we’ll create a full traditional-style heather wreath, perfect for your front door or as a beautiful piece to enjoy indoors throughout spring.

This wreath will be made entirely from Irish grown heather, chosen for its soft movement, rich texture, and those stunning pink and purple tones that dry gently in place. It’s an especially long-lasting wreath, continuing to hold its shape and colour beautifully long after the workshop.

Heather truly comes into its own at this time of year, making this a wonderful way to embrace the season ahead of the Easter holidays — calm, creative, and nature-led.

All materials and tools are provided, along with step-by-step guidance throughout. Tea and coffee will be served with home baked goods.

The workshop setting

We’ll be working in our outdoor, but enclosed pergola workshop within the studio’s peaceful courtyard garden, flooded with natural light.

We encourage you to dress in cosy layers and wear comfy shoes.

You’ll take home a finished wreath on the day

Grow With Me is a shared, guided growing project — designed to help you create a small, productive cut-flower bed at home, with confidence, clarity and gentle seasonal support.

This is a curated summer cut-flower garden, designed to support your own home growing and simple, seasonal design.

You will be growing a planting mix that I use as the foundation for my own cutting and studio work — selected for its vigour, complementary colour, form and texture, and for how naturally it translates from bed to vase and table.

This experience is rooted in how I really work:

designing planting combinations that perform well, cut generously, and support meaningful, everyday arranging using what you grow yourself. 

 Your planting collection 

You will receive a ready-planned planting mix, made up of repeated plantings of a small selection of my signature seasonal flowers — chosen not only for their performance in Irish gardens, but for their complementary colour, form and texture, and for how beautifully they work together for both growing and arranging.

These are plants I return to again and again in my own beds and designs, because they create rhythm in the garden and translate effortlessly from cutting bed to vase and table.

Your collection includes: 

• 6 sweet pea plants for a simple teepee feature
• 5 helichrysum plants
• 5 statice plants
• 4 dahlia plants
• zinnia seeds to sow later in the season
• bamboo canes for creating your sweet pea support

All plants are grown by The Flowersmith Studio and supplied at the correct stage for planting once the risk of frost has passed.

This planting mix is designed as a working cut-flower bed, planted a little more closely than a typical ornamental border to support regular harvesting.

Bed size & position

 For this selection of flowers, you will need a small, sunny planting space.

This planting collection is designed to fill a small working cut-flower bed or a generous container grouping.

An ideal bed size is approximately around 1.2m x 0.9m (4ft x 3ft). A little larger or smaller is perfectly fine — spacing can be adjusted on the day during the planting workshop.

For best results, your bed should be in a sunny, open position with at least 6 hours of direct sun per day.

Good light is essential for strong growth, reliable flowering and good cutting from this particular mix of plants.

 For those who would love to take their growing into simple, seasonal design. 

This option includes everything in Grow With Me – Core, plus:

• One in-person Garden-to-Table design workshop during peak cutting season, Saturday August 15th, 2-4pm 

This is a demonstration-led studio session, where I will create and talk through a seasonal centrepiece step by step, inviting shared observation, conversation and gentle participation along the way. 

In this studio session you will learn how to:

• work with what you have grown in your own bed
• select and condition garden material
• create a simple, beautiful seasonal centrepiece
• translate living plants into meaningful, temporary arrangements 

This is a shared studio experience — practical, celebratory and rooted in your own growing success.

• Places are limited so that plants can be grown well and each group can be supported properly.
• Your planting collection is designed to fill a small working cut-flower bed or generous container grouping (not a large raised bed).
• This experience is a shared seasonal growing and studio project. It is not a one-to-one mentoring programme.

Working with a beautiful selection of dried flowers, grasses, seed heads and textural material grown and prepared here at The Flowersmith Studio, you will create an airy, expressive dried floral arrangement that captures the feeling of a wild summer landscape — designed to be enjoyed all year round.

Your arrangement will be created in a vessel made from natural materials, chosen to complement the soft, meadow-inspired style of the design.

This workshop is designed to feel relaxed, creative and generous, while gently introducing professional design thinking around movement, balance and composition,

Working with specialty flowers grown here at The Flowersmith Studio, this session looks at how colour, texture and form are combined with strong internal structure to create bouquets that feel light, expressive and flower-filled — while still performing beautifully in real-world use.

All bouquets created during this session are approached as wedding-worthy designs — meaning they are considered not only for beauty, movement and expression, but also for reliability, balance and real-world use.

This workshop looks at how wedding-level results are achieved through both thoughtful material selection and practical construction, including spiral technique, internal support and assisted methods that allow airy, flower-filled, garden-inspired bouquets to be created without sacrificing structure or durability.

 Who this workshop is for: 

This workshop is designed for floristS, advanced hobbyists and confident designers who would like to deepen their bouquet practice and natural aesthetic .  

Some prior experience with floral arranging is recommended.

This is a short, focused and elevated studio workshop centred on creating refined, garden-inspired bouquets suitable for weddings, events and editorial-style work

This is a small-group, design-focused studio intensive created for those who would like to explore how natural, seasonal floral installations are conceived, planned and executed — beyond a standard flower arranging class. 

Taking place within the studio and garden environment at The Flowersmith Studio, the session works with an abundance of specialty flowers, foliage and textural material grown on site, allowing participants to design with plants at their freshest and most expressive stage.

 In this hands-on, full-day studio session, you will explore how flowers can transform a space and create a strong sense of mood, atmosphere and place.

Working with seasonal material and foam-free methods, the focus is on how installations are designed to respond to their surroundings and evoke a clear feeling, scene or narrative.

The working setting for the day is chosen to best suit the conditions and creative focus of the session, allowing the space itself to become part of the design process.

This is not about copying a fixed installation style or producing multiple set pieces.

Instead, the studio centres on one carefully designed seasonal installation, allowing you to explore the full creative and practical process in depth.

The emphasis is on how design decisions are translated into clear, practical methods that can be applied to real spaces, events and creative projects.

Who this studio is for

This studio intensive is designed for florists, experienced flower growers or designers, and confident hobbyists who would like to deepen their design practice.

You do not need to be working professionally, but some prior experience with floral arranging is recommended.

This is not a styled shoot or portfolio workshop.

It is a practical, design-led studio session focused on observation, decision-making and transferable methods for creating natural, seasonal floral installations that evoke mood, place and story.
